CCBRT is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible and is actively involved in Maternal and Newborn Health Care (MNHC), including obstetric fistula repair services. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

To strengthen its Nursing Department, CCBRT is seeking dynamic and motivated Assistant Nursing Officers (Health Volunteers) to provide clinical nursing care in their assigned areas, including:

  • Outpatient Department (OPD)
  • Inpatient Department (IPD)
  • Operating Theatre Department (OTD)

The Role

As an Assistant Nursing Officer, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care in accordance with established safety regulations, standards, and procedures while maintaining patient dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in line with quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure all necessary patient preparations are completed before consultations or surgical procedures.
  • Assist doctors during patient examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Translate information between patients and doctors from Kiswahili to English and vice versa when necessary.
  • Communicate sensitive information regarding patients’ medical conditions.
  • Counsel patients and their families when required.
  • Perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Control and manage patient flow within clinical areas.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.

Professional Requirements

  • Registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
  • Possession of a valid practicing license.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Flexible and able to multitask effectively.
  • Proactive and willing to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
