Job Purpose

The Corporate Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new corporate clients, managing existing key accounts, increasing customer retention, and expanding Airtel’s market share within the corporate business segment in Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth

  • Drive acquisition of new corporate customers within the Tanzanian market.
  • Increase corporate account revenue by 30% year-on-year through:
    • Farming (growing existing accounts)
    • Hunting (acquiring new customers)
  • Maintain customer churn below 3%.

Business Acquisition

  • Identify and target organizations currently not doing business with Airtel Tanzania.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, including:
    • New market entrants
    • Competitor customers
  • Develop effective sales and account plans.
  • Understand customer needs and business challenges.
  • Conduct professional sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Provide customized solutions through face-to-face engagements.
  • Prepare and follow up on proposals and tender submissions.

Product and Service Promotion

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Airtel Tanzania’s products and services.
  • Promote relevant solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Increase product penetration within existing accounts.
  • Inform customers about new and improved products and services.

Account Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage account development plans.
  • Build strong business relationships with corporate clients.
  • Represent Airtel as a professional and trusted service provider.
  • Ensure customer information is accurately updated in Airtel’s customer database.
  • Maintain regular contact schedules with key accounts.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

Customer Retention

  • Achieve agreed customer retention targets.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all sales-related matters within assigned accounts.
  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver appropriate customer solutions.
  • Support customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty initiatives.

Debt Management

  • Work proactively with customers to minimize outstanding debts.
  • Ensure timely payment collection and account reconciliation.

Innovation and Market Differentiation

  • Recommend new products and service enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department on promotional strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to differentiate Airtel from competitors.
  • Contribute ideas that improve customer experience and business performance.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Sales
    • Marketing
    • Or an equivalent qualification

Technical Skills

  • IT literacy is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise business solutions and digital services.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing corporate business or sales accounts.
  • Mandatory experience selling business enterprise products and solutions, including:
    • Digital infrastructure solutions
    • Digital services
  • Experience in specific industry sectors will be an added advantage, such as:
    • Banking and Finance
    • Hospitality
    • Healthcare
    • Other corporate sectors
