Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for timely vendor payments, accurate data maintenance, and fostering positive supplier relationships. This includes pay runs, reporting, reconciliations and being the first point of contact for Debtors chasing payment. The Accounts Payable Officer also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily functions including Receive, process, and verify invoices (Corporate) and review of branches payables and ensure timely payment
2. Review and schedule payments to vendors
3. Ensure Timely posting of corporate Bills in the systems
4. Reconcile accounts payable and Maintain accurate records of transactions
5. Reconciliations of respective ledgers and bank/wallet accounts
6. Manage vendor relationships (resolve disputes and ensure timely payments)
7. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
8. Assist with audits and inspections
9. Provide support to other Company personnel on need basis
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree or Diploma in accounting/Finance or related field
2. An excellent written and oral command in Kiswahili and English
3. Knowledge of general accounting principals
4. Proficient in relevant computer software
5. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
6. 2+ years in Finance/Accounting or related field experience

Working Conditions:

1. Working station is Dar es salaam – Tanzania
2. The Accounts Payable officer will be required to work as per EA Foods Limited  working conditions in terms of working hours and days and when necessary, employee may be required to work beyond working hours

4. Strong relational skills and financial management experience
5. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
6. Ability to work independently, unsupervised
7. Ability to give direction and provide assistance to others
