Position Summary

The Supervisor – Security Shift is responsible for supervising security operations within the Process Plant during assigned shifts. The role ensures adequate deployment of security personnel, protection of high-risk areas, enforcement of security procedures, participation in bullion shipments, and support of Gold Room security operations.

The successful candidate will promote safety, maintain shift discipline, coordinate emergency responses, and ensure compliance with all security protocols and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Shift Supervision

• Supervise all security activities within the Process Plant.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels for each security shift.
• Conduct toolbox meetings before each shift.
• Report safety concerns to the Senior Officer – Product Control.

Security Operations

• Deploy security officers to high-risk areas, including:
  • Mill Cyclones
  • Gravity Circuit
  • Knelson Concentrators
  • Primary Crusher
  • Mill Discharge
  • Smelt/Gold House
• Ensure officers are equipped with:
  • Radios
  • Body-worn cameras
  • Handheld metal detectors
  • Security registers
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Process Plant Security

• Inspect high-risk operational areas such as:
  • Elution Circuit
  • Fine Carbon Incinerator
  • Acacia Area
  • Knelson Concentrator
• Assist Process Plant operators with controlled access when required.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete and submit the Shift Deployment Register.
• Prepare and submit daily shift reports before the end of duty.
• Maintain and safeguard all security registers, including:
  • Firearm Register
  • High-Risk Register
  • Elution Valve Opening Register
  • Acacia Register

Bullion & High-Security Operations

• Participate in bullion shipments.
• Support heightened security operations.
• Assist the Senior Officer – Product Control in Gold Room administrative activities.

Firearms & Access Control

• Ensure proper storage and accountability of firearms.
• Maintain firearm issue and return registers.
• Enforce access control procedures.
• Conduct Process Plant perimeter patrols.

Operational Support

• Facilitate emergency access for:
  • Wheel loaders
  • Dozers
  • Fuel trucks
• Coordinate security support during plant shutdowns and maintenance activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) inspections.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Conduct security risk assessments and audits.
• Maintain audit records.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Attend stakeholder toolbox meetings.
• Respond to stakeholder security concerns.
• Promote awareness of the company’s toll-free reporting channels.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing security team.
• Develop an effective informer network.
• Promote discipline, motivation, integrity, and accountability.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Security Management.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• Ordinary Secondary School Education or higher.
• No criminal record.
• Valid driver’s license (where company vehicle operation is required).
• Physical and mental fitness, including the ability to pass pre-employment medical examinations.

Experience

Applicants should have:

• At least two (2) years of experience working in mine-site security operations.
