Position Overview

Matongo Gold Mine Limited (MGM) is seeking to recruit a qualified Maintenance Inspector to join its team in the Mara Region, Tanzania. The successful candidate will report to the Reliability Engineer and will be responsible for conducting routine inspections of mining equipment, machinery, and related infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Inspector will be responsible for:

• Ensuring inspection compliance using approved checklists and inspection tools.
• Performing first-level (walk-by) inspections to assess and record equipment conditions.
• Conducting Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) activities, including:
  • Vibration measurement.
  • Wear analysis.
  • Shaft alignment.
• Monitoring plant equipment by collecting and analyzing vibration data.
• Preparing inspection reports and maintaining accurate records of daily plant inspections.
• Supporting equipment reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with company safety standards and maintenance procedures.

• Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to effectively use inspection tools and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) techniques.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must have:

Education

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance inspection.
• Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage.

Professional Certifications (Desirable)

• CAT I Vibration Analysis Certification.
• Infrared Thermography Level I Certification.
