Position Overview
AB InBev is seeking a qualified Checker Operator to join its team in Mbeya, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, and stacking materials safely and efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy, governance controls, customer service standards, and supporting production operations.
Key Purpose of the Role
To safely and efficiently manage warehouse and production material movements by:
- Loading and unloading products.
- Maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Supporting production continuity.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Fleet Management
The Checker Operator will:
- Conduct pre-trip forklift inspections before every shift using the forklift inspection checklist.
- Operate, clean, and maintain forklifts in optimal working condition.
- Ensure fuel and fluid levels meet operational requirements.
2. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Responsibilities include:
- Comply with Department of Labour stacking exemptions.
- Maintain 5S workplace organization and housekeeping standards.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Global Operating Procedures (GOPs).
3. Stock Quality Management
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain warehouse stock age standards by applying First Expiry First Out (FEFO) principles.
- Conduct quality checks on packaging before storage and loading.
- Ensure products meet quality standards before dispatch.
4. Inventory Management & Controls
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain inventory records in accordance with governance policies.
- Participate in shift handover procedures.
- Perform daily stock counts using handheld digital devices.
- Generate variance reports and investigate inventory discrepancies.
5. Warehouse Operations
The Checker Operator will:
- Maintain effective communication with warehouse and inventory teams.
- Accurately check, load, and unload delivery vehicles.
- Load correct quantities of split and full pallets using load summaries.
- Record returned stock accurately before unloading.
- Manage stock movements of finished goods and empty containers.
- Complete bin sign-off procedures for inventory reconciliation.
6. Efficient Loading & Unloading
Responsibilities include:
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Supply production lines with required materials.
- Communicate effectively with logistics coordinators and team members.
- Complete all operational documentation accurately.
7. Production Support
The successful candidate will:
- Load empty containers and raw materials onto production lines.
- Remove finished products from production lines and stack them correctly.
- Support continuous production flow and productivity.
- Remain familiar with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements
Education
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- National Diploma or equivalent certificate/diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or
- Technical qualification from VETA.
Professional Qualifications
- Certificate of Forklift Operation from a recognized institution.
- Valid Forklift Driver License.
Experience
- Experience operating a double-handler forklift.
