Emerging Health Initiatives (EHI) is inviting applications from qualified and compassionate Registered Nurses to join its founding clinical team at a new Polyclinic in Kamachumu, Muleba District, Kagera Region, Tanzania.

EHI strengthens healthcare systems through direct service delivery, community outreach, health education, and partnerships with local stakeholders. As part of its mission, the organization is establishing a modern Polyclinic in Kamachumu to provide comprehensive primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services, preventive healthcare, and community health programs.
Position Details
- Job Title: Registered Nurse
- Number of Positions: 2
- Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
- Duty Station: Kamachumu, Muleba District, Kagera Region, Tanzania
- Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Two Years), renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding
- Probation Period: Six (6) months
- Expected Start Date: To be communicated to successful candidates
- Salary: According to EHI salary scale and benefits package
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse will support the delivery of high-quality nursing services, maternal and child health services, preventive care, and community-based healthcare programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in accordance with professional standards.
- Deliver Antenatal Care (ANC), Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Family Planning, and Immunization services.
- Conduct patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Perform wound dressing and emergency nursing procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and service registers.
- Prepare government reports and service statistics.
- Participate in community outreach activities and health education programs.
- Support the implementation of infection prevention and control standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Diploma or Enrolled Nurse (EN) qualification in Nursing.
- Registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
- Valid practicing license.
- At least three (3) years of relevant clinical experience.
Required Experience
Candidates should have experience in:
- Antenatal Care (ANC) services.
- Reproductive and Child Health (RCH).
- Family Planning services.
- Immunization services.
- Government reporting systems.
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Added Advantages
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Community outreach programs.
- Mentoring junior staff.
- Digital health technologies.
- Social media communication and content creation.
Required Competencies
- Excellent patient care skills.
- Compassionate and respectful approach to patient care.
- Strong communication and counseling skills.
- Computer proficiency.

Working Schedule
Staff will work according to duty rosters approved by management and may be required to work weekends, public holidays, and emergency shifts based on operational requirements.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Kiswahili is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of English is required.
