Role Purpose
The Finance Manager – P2P and Opex Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments, effective management of travel and expense processes, and maintaining completeness and accuracy of operating expenditure (Opex) accounting records.
The role is part of the Finance Operations (FinOps) team and works closely with:
- Vodafone Shared Services
- Margin Accounting teams
- Intercompany (ICO) teams
- Procurement teams
- Commercial and finance stakeholders
The position will drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide financial insights to support cost optimization and business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Management
The Finance Manager will:
- Ensure supplier invoices are accurately processed and matched with purchase orders and delivery receipts.
- Manage supplier payment schedules to optimize cash flow and maximize early payment opportunities.
- Ensure payments comply with:
- Internal policies
- Tax regulations
- Financial reporting requirements
- Resolve supplier payment disputes, delays, and processing errors.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready payment records.
- Monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across business units.
- Collaborate with procurement and business teams to improve invoice processing efficiency.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the P2P process.
- Manage the complete Intercompany (ICO) process, including:
- Invoicing
- Payments
- SLA management with shared service teams
2. Operating Expenditure (Opex) Accounting & Analysis
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor and record operating expenses according to approved budgets and actual expenditure.
- Support timely and accurate month-end closing activities.
- Manage:
- Opex accruals
- Account reconciliations
- Financial adjustments
- Analyze Opex trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare monthly Opex analysis reports covering:
- GRIR analysis
- Travel and expenses
- Manual payments
- One-time vendors
3. Travel & Expense (T&E) Management
The role will:
- Ensure accurate accounting of travel and expense claims according to Vodafone policies.
- Oversee implementation and compliance with travel and expense procedures.
- Monitor expense submissions for:
- Accuracy
- Policy compliance
- Timely reimbursement
- Identify opportunities to improve T&E processes and strengthen controls.
4. Governance, Compliance & Controls
Key duties include:
- Oversee month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure transaction accuracy by applying appropriate processes and financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Internal policies
- Regulatory requirements
- Accounting standards
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Identify risks and implement control improvements within:
- P2P processes
- Opex accounting
- T&E management
- Promote accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Business Administration
- Related field
Professional certification is an added advantage:
- CPA
- ACCA
- Equivalent accounting qualifications
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial operations.
- Experience working with shared services environments and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in telecommunications or large corporate environments is an advantage.
- Auditing experience is an added advantage.

- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
- Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and cost optimization opportunities.
