Lake Cement Ltd, the manufacturer of Nyati Cement, is seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join its maintenance team.

The successful candidate will support cement plant operations through effective maintenance planning, equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–2 years of experience in cement plant maintenance.

Required Skills and Competencies

Candidates should have:

• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of cement plant equipment, including:
  • Crusher
  • Vertical Roller Mill (VRM)
  • Kiln
  • Ball Mill
  • Packing Plant
• Experience in:
  • Equipment alignment
  • Lubrication practices
  • Mechanical maintenance activities
• Familiarity with:
  • Preventive maintenance techniques
  • Predictive maintenance practices
• Understanding of:
  • ISO management systems
  • Safety standards
  • Environmental and health requirements

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

• Planning and executing maintenance activities for plant equipment.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment breakdowns.
• Ensuring proper inspection, alignment, and performance of machinery.
• Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Maintaining maintenance records and supporting spare parts planning.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Supporting shutdown planning and execution of major maintenance activities.
