Position Overview
The Sales Management Intern Apprentice will support the Tanzania Cluster commercial team in analyzing market trends, identifying business opportunities, supporting business development initiatives, and improving sales performance.
The role involves working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand market dynamics, generate business insights, and support strategic commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Business Analysis
- Conduct market analysis to determine market size and CMA CGM’s market share.
- Perform competitor analysis for benchmarking and provide valuable market intelligence.
- Conduct market studies to identify new business opportunities.
- Support initiatives aimed at acquiring new customers and expanding business within Tanzania.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor Tanzania Cluster performance across different agencies.
- Prepare periodic performance reports for:
- Sales teams
- Local management
- Regional offices (DRO)
- Head Office (HO)
- Share CMA CGM performance updates and relevant market information during commercial meetings.
Business Development Support
- Support business development projects within the Tanzania Cluster, especially inland logistics projects.
- Assist in preparing business plans for new initiatives.
- Follow up on ongoing business development projects.
- Support the Tanzania Cluster Sales Manager in coordinating sales activities.
- Provide general support to the Tanzania Cluster General Manager.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Academic Qualifications
- Diploma in any business-related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree qualification will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong data analysis and diagnostic abilities.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Project
- Other project and time management software tools
Professional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation and reporting abilities.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
