Exim Bank Tanzania is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join its Retail Banking team as an Alternative Delivery Channel Officer.

Reports To: Head – Alternate Channel and Digital Transformation

Working Hours: Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:30 PM) and Saturdays (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM), or as required by branch operations.

Job Purpose
The Alternative Delivery Channel Officer is responsible for driving the growth of the Bank’s merchant acquiring business by expanding the Point of Sale (POS) network and promoting digital banking solutions. The role focuses on merchant acquisition, relationship management, business development, and ensuring excellent service delivery to merchants.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Merchant Acquisition
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the merchant acquiring portfolio.
- Promote POS terminals and other digital banking products through consultative selling.
- Prepare business proposals, negotiate agreements, and onboard new merchants.
- Develop and implement merchant acquisition campaigns to achieve business growth targets.
Merchant Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants.
- Respond promptly to merchant enquiries and resolve service-related issues.
- Coordinate joint marketing initiatives to increase transaction volumes.
- Cross-sell additional banking products and digital services.
- Manage POS terminal deployment, replacement, and retrieval.
Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with internal departments to support merchant needs and improve service delivery.
- Act as an advocate for merchants by coordinating timely resolution of operational issues.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and performance reports.
- Monitor merchant transaction performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to support business strategy.
- Maintain accurate merchant records and databases.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in merchant acquiring, digital banking, sales, or customer relationship management is an added advantage.
