About the Position

LOLC Tanzania Microfinance Bank is seeking a Senior Business Development Officer to drive business growth through loan acquisition, field sales, customer relationship management, and effective loan portfolio management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving business targets, maintaining portfolio quality, preparing credit proposals, and providing mentorship to junior officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by identifying and converting high-potential loan opportunities.
• Achieve monthly business and sales targets while maintaining a 100% collection rate.
• Conduct field sales activities, including visiting dealers and marketplaces to generate leads.
• Prepare, review, and submit complete and accurate credit proposals with supporting documentation to Head Office.
• Monitor and manage loan portfolio performance.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain strong portfolio quality.
• Provide market insights to improve business performance, operational efficiency, and customer engagement.
• Mentor and support junior officers to enhance their performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of car loans or similar financial products.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
• Strong self-motivation and a goal-oriented approach.
• A proven track record of achieving sales targets.
