TIES is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Scheduling

  • Assist in preparing project work plans, schedules, and implementation programmes.
  • Coordinate activities among technical teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Follow up on pending tasks and support timely completion of project activities.
  • Coordinate project meetings, site visits, inspections, and mobilization activities.

2. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Collect and consolidate project updates.
  • Prepare progress reports for management and clients.
  • Maintain project trackers, document registers, action lists, issue logs, and risk logs.
  • Organize and maintain technical reports, drawings, correspondence, minutes, and approvals.
  • Identify delays, resource constraints, and other issues requiring management attention.

3. Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Serve as a link between TIES project teams and clients.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams covering:
    • Mining
    • Mineral processing
    • Metallurgy
    • Geology
    • Environmental
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
  • Ensure project deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Prepare correspondence and meeting minutes.
  • Follow up on client approvals and submissions.

4. Administrative & Commercial Follow-Up

  • Support procurement, mobilization, and logistics activities.
  • Assist in tracking project costs against approved budgets.
  • Identify and report budget deviations to management.
  • Follow up on payments, submissions, and approvals.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or a closely related discipline:

  • Project Planning and Management
  • Business Administration
  • Operations Management
  • Mining Engineering
  • Mineral Processing Engineering
  • Metallurgy

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in:
    • Project coordination
    • Mining
    • Mineral processing
    • Engineering
    • Construction
    • Similar technical projects
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Candidates should have:

  • Good understanding of project planning and scheduling.
  • Project monitoring and reporting skills.
  • Strong coordination and follow-up abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar project management software is an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone with 3–5 years of experience coordinating technical projects, particularly within mining, engineering, construction, or mineral processing environments.

The role is not purely administrative. Candidates should be comfortable coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, tracking project schedules and deliverables, preparing reports, monitoring project risks and costs, and communicating with clients and technical personnel.
