Job Summary
Tanzania Integrated Engineering Solution (TIES) is seeking a Geologist Intern to join its team and gain practical, supervised experience in mining and exploration projects.
The internship is suitable for recent Geology graduates and final-year students who are interested in developing practical skills in geological exploration, fieldwork, data analysis, and mining consultancy.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in supervised fieldwork, including:
- Geological mapping
- Soil and rock sampling
- Trenching
- Core logging
- Support geological exploration programmes through data collection and geochemical/geophysical surveys.
- Maintain accurate field records, daily reports, and logs.
- Assist with RC and diamond drilling programmes under the supervision of senior geologists.
- Learn to process and interpret geological data using software such as:
- ArcGIS
- Leapfrog
- Surfer
- Assist in developing geological models and resource estimates.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers and metallurgists.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A recent or upcoming Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Final-year students or candidates nearing completion of their degree may also apply.
- No prior professional experience is required.
- Practical exposure through fieldwork, coursework, or industrial attachment in gold or base metals geology is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of geological software such as:
- ArcGIS
- QGIS
- Surpac
- Micromine
- Willingness to learn and develop technical software skills.
- Candidates who progressed from a Diploma to a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field have an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of geological mapping and geophysical survey techniques is an advantage.
- Competence in Microsoft:
- Excel
- Word
- Project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt.
- Willingness to work in remote field and mining-site conditions.
