UATC is seeking two highly skilled and experienced professionals in Computing and Information Technology to join its Science and Technology Faculty, starting 1 October 2026.

Position Details

Position: Full-Time Tutor in Computing and Information Technology (CIT)

Location: Vijibweni, Kigamboni Municipality, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Teaching modules up to NTA Level 6 in Computing and Information Technology, Business Information Technology, and related fields.
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction using modern teaching methods and practical examples.
  • Providing academic and professional guidance to students on ICT-related assignments, fieldwork, and projects.
  • Encouraging critical thinking and practical skills development among students.
  • Mentoring students in their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and character development.
  • Working closely with the Head of Department to organize and oversee extracurricular activities, including:
    • Student clubs
    • Community service initiatives
    • Industry networking events
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new short courses and advanced learning opportunities in line with NACTVET standards and regulations.
  • Participating in continuous professional development, research, and knowledge-sharing activities in Computing and Information Technology.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor or college administration relevant to the position.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computing and Information Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • A valid Teacher Training License or Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) Certificate.
  • Two or more years of teaching experience in a NACTVET-recognized academic institution will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong passion for teaching and mentoring students.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.

    • Ordinary Secondary School and High School (Form Six) certificates and academic transcripts, or equivalent qualifications for candidates who studied abroad.
    • NTA Level 4 certificates and NTA Level 5 and 6 Diploma certificates and academic transcripts, where applicable.
    • Bachelor’s degree certificate and academic transcript.
    • Teaching licenses, certificates, or other qualifications demonstrating teaching ability and professional knowledge, where available.
    • Copies of research work and publications, if any.
    • Proof of professional experience, if available.
