Job Summary
Manyara’s Secret is looking for an Accountant to join its existing accounting structure. This is a hands-on accounting and lodge operations role, combining office-based financial responsibilities with practical involvement in daily lodge operations.
The accountants work on a rotational basis. One accountant spends approximately two weeks per month at the lodge, while the other handles office-based accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing accountant.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Prepare monthly financial and operational reports.
- Post and manage accounts receivable and payable transactions in QuickBooks.
- Record and follow up on payments through NightsBridge.
- Support tax preparation.
- Conduct EFD follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial data.
- Perform other financial and administrative duties assigned by the Director.
Lodge Operations
- Manage petty cash.
- Participate in guest check-outs.
- Handle stock ordering.
- Monitor and control inventory.
- Support day-to-day lodge operations as required.
- Work closely with lodge management and the finance team.
Important: The position does not involve reservation management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of proven financial experience.
- Experience in an auditing firm, hotel/hospitality business, or TRA is preferred.
- Proven experience using QuickBooks.
- Experience with NightsBridge or a similar reservation system is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting figures, financial records, and data management.
- Excellent data-entry skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English, Microsoft Office, and Google Sheets.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.
