Main Purpose

The Supervisor will oversee the safe, efficient and reliable distribution of fuel to mining equipment and support equipment across the mine site. The role focuses on fuel availability, accurate records, minimizing fuel losses, preventing contamination/theft, and maintaining HSSE compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily fuel distribution across the mine.
• Supervise fuel bowser operators and allocate routes and duties.
• Coordinate emergency refuelling with Mining and Maintenance teams.
• Ensure accurate fuel transactions in fuel-management systems and manual records.
• Monitor fuel meters and equipment calibration.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of fuel bowsers, flow meters and dispensing equipment.
• Lead pre-shift meetings, toolbox talks, coaching and team performance monitoring.
• Enforce Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and support incident investigations.
• Ensure PPE compliance, spill prevention, fuel contamination control and proper housekeeping.

Education & Certifications

• CSEE or higher.
• Valid Tanzanian Heavy Duty Code E driving licence.
• Certificate from the college where the Heavy Duty Code E qualification was obtained.
• Relevant fuel-management or petroleum-handling training.
• Occupational health & safety, fire safety and spill-response training.
• Defensive Driving/Master Driver training is an advantage.
• Must have no criminal record.

Experience Requirements

The employer specifically requires:

• 3+ years driving heavy-duty vehicles and light vehicles, particularly in mining.
• 3+ years’ experience in fuel distribution within a mining/industrial environment.
• Previous mining supervisory experience.
• Experience using fuel-management systems.
• Mining experience is highly desirable.
• Experience driving Mercedes-Benz trucks, particularly Actros 3340, is an advantage.
