Purpose of the Position

To lead and manage all branch operations, ensuring sales and loan portfolio targets are met, portfolio quality is protected, staff perform at their best, and company policies and regulatory requirements are followed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations of the branch.
• Ensure branch sales and loan portfolio targets are consistently met.
• Develop, implement and monitor branch strategies to achieve business growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, regulators and partners.
• Provide leadership, coaching and motivation to branch staff to ensure high performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate branch records and oversee effective record-keeping systems.
• Conduct performance appraisals for branch staff and identify training needs.
• Seek approvals from Head Office for matters requiring higher authority.
• Represent the company in certain legal and administrative matters at branch level.
• Maintain close communication with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) on daily operations and branch performance.
• Lead branch-level marketing and promotional initiatives to grow the customer base.
• Safeguard company assets, ensuring proper controls and security are in place.
• Monitor loan portfolio quality, ensuring effective follow-up and recovery strategies.
• Ensure company objectives and policies are cascaded and implemented within the branch.

Academic Qualifications and Key Attributes

Applicants must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

Academic Qualifications

• A Degree in a business-related field or a similar discipline.

Key Competencies and Attributes

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Required Minimum Work Experience

• At least five (5) years of work experience in a Microfinance Institution (MFI) environment.
• Experience in sales of loan-related products.
• Strong business acumen and integrity.
