Role Summary

The Assistant Concession Manager will support the Concession Manager in overseeing Wildlife Management Area operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, government regulations, and TAWA guidelines.

The role includes coordination with stakeholders, infrastructure monitoring, data management, and community engagement. The successful candidate must also be capable of acting in the Concession Manager’s role when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise management on securing, protecting, and maintaining company concessions and assets
  • Manage relationships between the company, government institutions, and the public
  • Serve as liaison between the company, authorities, and local communities
  • Identify potential conflicts or threats and recommend solutions
  • Develop strategies to strengthen cooperation with stakeholders
  • Assist in obtaining permits and licenses and ensure compliance
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet contract terms
  • Maintain strong working relationships with TAWA, NCAA, TANAPA, and other partners
  • Support research activities and integrate findings into management plans
  • Contribute to community development through planning, funding, and evaluation of projects

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wildlife management
  • Knowledge of Tanzanian hunting and conservation laws
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, including weekends and after hours
  • GIS experience is an added advantage
