AUTO ELECTRICIAN (1 POSITION)

Contract Type & Duration: Twelve (12) Months Fixed Term Contract

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Selected candidates will first undergo a practical training and assessment programme. Success in the role is subject to qualifying as a competent technician.

The Auto Electrician is responsible for:

• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identifying electrical faults in vehicles and equipment.

• Installation & Repairs: Installing electrical components and performing general maintenance.

• Safety Systems: Maintaining safety systems and working with high-voltage systems.

• Operations: Upgrades, modifications, and ensuring all work is delivered to plan while following safety processes.

• Support: Preventative measures, documentation, reporting, inter-team collaboration, and providing emergency support.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Certificate including final assessment from a recognized technical training school.

• CSEE: A minimum Certificate of Secondary School Education (CSEE) is an added advantage.

• Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience or more is an advantage.

• Physical Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit to perform duties.

• Testing: Selected candidates must pass a “site test” and a thorough medical check-up by an authorized medical practitioner.

• Legal: All applicants must have a NIDA ID (or Number) and a TIN Number from the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).

• Documentation: Must provide an introduction letter from a Local Government Authority and letters from two (2) referees.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Adhere to all training instructions from qualified equipment trainers and supervisors.

• Read and interpret manuals and blueprints for assigned work.

• Comply with relevant regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety standards.

• Take reasonable care of personal health and safety and that of others.

• Report equipment faults to the supervisor in a timely manner.

• Work proactively as a team member within the mining department.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Strong commitment to operational safety.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision.

• A good team player.

• Fluency in Kiswahili, English, or both.
