Serena Hotels is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Bar Man at Dar Es Salaam Serena Hotel.

Position: Bar Man

Position Summary

We are looking for a professional and friendly Bar Man to join our Food & Beverage team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing excellent guest service, maintaining bar cleanliness, and ensuring smooth and efficient bar operations in accordance with hotel standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, wines, beers, and other drinks according to hotel standards.
• Welcome guests, take orders, provide recommendations, and deliver friendly and professional service.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the bar and service areas.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of beverages, glassware, equipment, and bar supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, wastage, breakages, or damaged equipment.
• Operate the POS system and handle guest bills and payments accurately.
• Follow all hotel hygiene, health and safety, and responsible alcohol service procedures.
• Assist with bar opening, closing, setup, and cleaning duties.
• Work closely with the Food & Beverage team and other hotel departments to ensure excellent guest service.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow all hotel policies and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Bar Supervisor or Food & Beverage Manager.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Bartending or Food & Beverage.
• Good knowledge of beverages, cocktails, wines, beers, and bar service.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bartender, Bar Man, or similar position.
