JOB OPPORTUNITY: BRANCH MANAGER – MWANZA BRANCH
Bank of Africa (BMCE Group) is hiring for the position of Branch Manager for its Mwanza Branch. This role focuses on guiding a branch’s financial direction, growing the business through customer relationships, and ensuring efficient, compliant operations.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing the full performance of a branch by guiding its Financial direction.
-
Supporting staff and ensuring smooth daily operations.
-
Growing the business through customer relationships and identifying new opportunities.
-
Meeting set targets while maintaining high service standards.
-
Monitoring risks, compliance, and financial activities to ensure the branch operates efficiently and sustainably.
SCOPE OF DUTIES
-
Prepare the branch budget and strategy and ensure profitability.
-
Establish and develop sales opportunities to achieve targets and meet customers’ expectations.
-
Organize branch objectives in liaison with retail officers regarding annual objectives and sales campaigns.
-
Ensure branch coordination through weekly and monthly meetings and training of branch staff.
-
Implement, monitor, and analyze the achievements of branch objectives.
-
Build and improve the quality of business and retail clients.
-
Conduct regular customer visits to retain existing customers and build loyalty.
-
Promote new business by selling bank products to new clients.
-
Prepare and analyze credit applications for presentation to the credit department.
-
Review all branch reports and oversee daily operations of all areas of the branch.
-
Check and forward daily and weekly reports to Head Office departments.

Manage and monitor team workflow at the branch in line with set targets.

Ensure service delivery standards are maintained and branch staff comply with statutory regulations.

Be involved in corporate social responsibility to improve visibility for the bank.

Monitor overstepping reports, commercial risk, and debt collection.

Manage term deposits and provide customer balances.
-
Advise walk-in clients on various accounts and facilities.

Monitor and analyze quantitative and qualitative achievements with the Sales Coordination Unit.

Implement business plans prepared in collaboration with the sales coordination structure.

Knowledge of banking and market practice.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

Education: An Advanced Diploma/Degree in either Commerce, Finance, or Marketing.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Banking Operations.

Knowledge: A good understanding of Banking Operations and Products, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
-
Core Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation/influencing skills.

Leadership: Team player with strong leadership and management skills.
