Job Summary

The Business Banker will be responsible for driving business growth by managing and expanding the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) banking portfolio.

The role focuses on increasing deposits and asset growth, strengthening customer relationships, improving customer satisfaction, and achieving branch business targets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Portfolio Management

Grow business propositions including:
- Deposits.
- Assets and lending solutions for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Manage and maintain the existing Business Banking portfolio.
Identify new business opportunities and expand customer relationships.
Achieve budgeted Business Banking targets within the branch.

Sales & Customer Relationship Management

Reinforce the branch sales strategy.
Improve customer satisfaction and customer retention.
Build strong relationships with business customers through regular engagement and visits.
Identify customer needs and provide suitable banking solutions.

Customer Assessment & Cross-Selling

Appraise customer proposals and provide recommendations.
Prepare customer profiles to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Promote relevant banking products and services to SME customers.

Daily Responsibilities

Review and evaluate customer business proposals.
Conduct customer calls and relationship visits.
Develop customer profiles for business growth opportunities.
Monitor portfolio performance and support revenue generation.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Academic Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.

Added Advantage:

Professional qualifications such as:
- AKIB.
- CPA (K).
- ACCA.
Master’s Degree in a business-related field.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in banking, business banking, SME lending, relationship management, or financial services.
