SIHOTECH Engineering Company Limited is seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to join its dynamic team. The following positions are open for projects in Dodoma & Elsewhere in Tanzania and Eastern Africa.

Open Positions & Requirements

1. Assistant Project Manager

Key Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Must be Registered in a related Professional certification.
Experience: Minimum 15 years’ experience in transport infrastructure development and structural design; Proven involvement in at least three (3) marine infrastructure projects of similar nature and complexity, serving as Project Manager or Resident Engineer within the last ten (10) years.
Key Skills: Strong leadership, budgeting and cost control expertise, and knowledge of construction methods and safety protocols.
Responsibilities: Support project planning/scheduling, monitor costs and productivity, flag project risks, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.

2. Civil Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in transport infrastructure development and structural design; Proven experience on at least three (3) transport infrastructure projects of similar nature and complexity within the last 10 years.
Key Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project; competence in GPS and site surveying applications.
Responsibilities: Oversee site execution works (drainage, road works), ensure compliance with quality standards, prepare progress reports, and resolve technical issues/RFIs.

3. Hydrological Expert

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in hydrological studies for infrastructure projects; proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and QGIS/ArcGIS.
Responsibilities: Conduct catchment analysis, review hydraulic designs for drainage systems, and monitor flood risks during construction.

4. Geotechnical Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Soil Mechanics; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in geotechnical investigation for transport infrastructure; experience on at least 2 similar projects in the last 7 years.
Responsibilities: Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations (boreholes, SPT), interpret soil reports, and advise on foundation designs.

5. Structural Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in structural design and transport infrastructure development.
Responsibilities: Review structural drawings and calculations, supervise construction activities (RCC, steel), and resolve technical issues with multidisciplinary teams.

6. Material Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Materials, or Construction Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in materials testing for infrastructure; experience on at least 2 similar projects in the last 7 years.
Responsibilities: Evaluate construction materials (concrete, bitumen, soil), supervise laboratory testing, and ensure compliance with BS and ISO standards.

7. Service Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in mechanical building services design/installation.
Responsibilities: Review mechanical drawings (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection), supervise installation, and lead commissioning and handover.

8. Electrical Engineer

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Registered Professional Engineer (ERB) with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in electrical design for building infrastructure.
Responsibilities: Supervise installation of power, lighting, and ELV systems (CCTV, fire alarm); ensure compliance with IEC, BS 7671, and TANESCO standards.

9. Environmental and Social Expert

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Social Sciences, or related field; Registered Professional with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in environmental/social management; experience with World Bank, AfDB, or other donor safeguard standards.
Responsibilities: Implement Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP), conduct inspections, and manage stakeholder engagement and grievance mechanisms.

10. ICT Specialist

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent; Registered Professional Engineer with a valid practicing license.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in ICT systems for building infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities: Manage ICT infrastructure (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN), oversee CCTV and biometric access systems, and ensure cybersecurity compliance.

11. Quantity Surveyor

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Economics; Registration with AQRB.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of practical experience in cost estimation for complex building projects.
Responsibilities: Site measurements, valuations, tendering, procurement, and contract administration.

12. Land Surveyor

Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, or related field; Registered Surveyor.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying for building infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities: Conduct topographic and boundary surveys using modern equipment (GPS, RTK), and set out construction works for buildings and utilities.
