Job Summary

FABEC Investment Limited is seeking an experienced Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead the technical direction and delivery of company projects across its civil engineering, mining, telecommunications, and energy divisions.

The successful candidate will oversee engineering quality, safety, cost control, and regulatory compliance while providing technical leadership to project managers and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish company-wide technical strategies, standards, and best practices.

2. Oversee design reviews, construction methods, and quality assurance processes.

3. Lead technical tender preparation, including proposals, costing, and risk assessments.

4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to project managers and site teams.

5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, ISO standards, and Contractors Registration Board (CRB) regulations.

6. Manage technical relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

7. Mentor technical staff and report on performance to the Managing Director and Board.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Telecommunications, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering.

2. Additional Qualification: A Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.

3. Professional Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is mandatory.

4. Work Experience: At least six years of experience, including five years in senior technical or project leadership.

5. Project Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale civil engineering, mining, telecommunications, or infrastructure projects.

6. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, cost control, and project scheduling.

7. Language Skills: Excellent command of English and Kiswahili.

8. Nationality and Integrity: Must be a Tanzanian citizen with a high level of integrity.
