Civil / Highway Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and execution of civil and highway construction works in accordance with project specifications and standards

• Carry out inspections of road works, pavement layers, culverts, drainage systems and retaining structures to ensure quality compliance

• Carry out site measurements, leveling and setting out works

• Prepare daily site records and progress reports

• Monitor contractor activities and work schedules

• Coordinate with engineers and technical teams on project activities.

Key Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project and MS Office

• Competence in GPS operation and site surveying techniques

• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures in road works

• Strong problem-solving and technical coordination skills

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction standards

• Effective planning and organizational skills

Qualifications

• Diploma or FTC in Civil/Highway Engineering or a related field

• Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in road construction projects

• Experience in supervision of road works, drainage systems, culverts and earthworks

• Good understanding of construction standards, site supervision and quality control procedures

• Ability to prepare site reports, measurements and progress records

Working Station: Dodoma & Elsewhere in Tanzania and Eastern Africa
