Main Purpose of the Job

The Cleaner will carry out housekeeping, cleaning and tidying activities according to established hygiene standards to ensure that public and private staff areas are maintained in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and other rooms in MSF houses.
• Do laundry, iron clothes and perform other housekeeping activities.
• Support the cook with washing up, kitchen cleaning and related activities.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper and soap when required.
• Prepare hot water for tea and coffee upon arrival and refill drinking water.
• Check that toilets are adequately stocked with paper, soap and condoms.
• Check that water supplies for the kitchen, showers and other areas are sufficient during water cuts.
• Ensure that premises are properly secured by locking doors and windows.

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Qualification

• No formal educational qualification is required.

Experience

• No previous work experience is required.

Language Requirements

• Good spoken and written English is desirable.
• Kiswahili is essential.
