The school is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to join its Secondary School team.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Computer Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Teaching Computer Science across:
- Key Stage 3
- Cambridge IGCSE
- Cambridge International AS & A Level (where required)
- Assessing, monitoring, and reporting student progress using different assessment methods.
- Differentiating teaching approaches to meet diverse student learning needs.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Integrating modern educational technology into teaching and learning.
- Participating in school activities, including:
- Extracurricular activities
- Meetings
- School events
- Professional development programs
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student success.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
- Education (Computer Science)
- Or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum, especially IGCSE Computer Science.
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Added advantages include:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience teaching Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as:
- Python
- Java
- JavaScript
- Experience in:
- Robotics
- Coding clubs
- STEM enrichment programs
