Job Description
Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to join its Logistics Department as Distribution Drivers in Dar es Salaam and Mbeya.
The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting and delivering stock, managing assigned trucks and inventory, handling customer payments, maintaining delivery documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and traffic regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Haul bulk stock through primary distribution between manufacturing plants, distribution centres, local distribution partners, and OCCDs.
- Deliver stock through secondary distribution to direct delivery customers and OCCDs.
- Provide professional and efficient customer service to internal and external customers.
- Collect cash from customers and ensure all collected cash is properly banked and settled without shortages.
- Prepare and compile necessary invoices.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is complete, accurate, and properly checked.
- Take full accountability for the allocated truck, mobile device, stock, and pallets.
- Coordinate the receipt of customer invoices.
- Conduct accurate and timely daily stock counts.
- Comply with security checks and procedures.
- Manage and supervise the truck crew.
- Comply with national traffic laws and regulations.
- Follow company safety standards and work to prevent accidents and fatalities.
- Settle loads after every delivery.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- VETA Driving Certificate.
- Form IV secondary education.
- A valid and applicable driver’s licence with at least 3 years’ validity.
Experience & Skills
Candidates should have:
- 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Previous distribution driving experience, preferably with a haulier.
- Ability and willingness to work fixed shifts and specified working days.
- Understanding of logistics processes and the relationship between distribution and warehouse operations.
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to maintain assigned vehicles in a safe and operational condition.
- Knowledge of equipment handling and truck/stock asset care.
- Understanding of distribution KPIs and their impact on internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of distribution route planning and optimisation systems.
- Ability to use technology such as:
- Mobile devices
- Cab cameras
- Satellite tracking systems
