1. About the Position

Sihotech Engineering Company Limited invites applications from qualified Tanzanian nationals for two Earthworks Technician positions.

The successful candidates will supervise road earthworks and civil works activities, ensuring that excavation, grading, filling, and compaction operations meet approved engineering drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily earthworks activities, including excavation, grading, filling, and compaction.
• Ensure that earthworks operations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate the use of construction equipment, materials, and workforce on site.
• Monitor site levels, alignment, and compaction quality to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare daily work progress reports and communicate site issues to project supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Coordinate with engineers and technical teams on project activities.

3. Key Skills and Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate the following skills:

• Strong knowledge of earthworks, excavation, grading, and compaction operations.
• Good understanding of site safety and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures in roadworks.
• Strong problem-solving and technical coordination skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction standards.
• Effective planning and organizational skills.

4. Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related construction field.
• At least eight (8) years of proven experience in road earthworks and civil works supervision.
• Practical experience in excavation, grading, compaction, gravel placement, and construction equipment coordination.
• Ability to supervise workforce activities and ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
• Ability to prepare site reports, measurements, and progress records.
