Job Title: East Africa Business Development Engineer.
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; also covers East Africa, with a primary focus on Tanzania and Kenya.
Reports To: General Manager – Egypt/North & East Africa.
Company Profile: The organization is a global leader in water-soluble polymers, providing solutions for the oil & gas, mining, water treatment, and various industrial sectors. The role is designed to support the expansion and development of the company’s activities across the East Africa region.
Opportunity: The position offers the chance to lead business development in a region with significant growth potential in the mining and water treatment sectors. The successful candidate will expand the company’s presence, build strategic customer relationships, and contribute to the regional growth strategy.

Develop company business across East Africa, specifically focusing on Kenya and Tanzania.
Identify and acquire new customers within mining operations, as well as industrial and municipal water treatment.
Appoint and manage local distributors, as the company currently uses distribution channels in the region.
Collaborate with distributors to ensure proper technical positioning of products, support customer visits, and develop the market.
Maintain and grow relationships with existing strategic accounts and international or multinational companies.
Provide troubleshooting, application guidance, and product selection support to customers.
Execute field trials, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
Coordinate with laboratories and technical teams for product optimization and analysis.
Monitor business opportunities, competitor activity, and market trends in the region.
Contribute to regional development strategy and prepare sales forecasts and visit reports.

Education: An engineering degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field.
Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in mining chemicals, water treatment, or related industrial sectors.
Commercial/Technical Skills: A strong commercial mindset paired with a solid technical understanding.
Regional Knowledge: Previous experience working with customers in East Africa, particularly Kenya and Tanzania.
Management: Experience managing or working with distributors is considered highly desirable.
Communication: Ability to interact with both multinational clients and local companies.
Mobility: Must be able to travel frequently within East Africa and work independently.

Fluent in English.
A valid driving license.
Must own or have access to a vehicle for regional travel and regular client visits.
