Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical and automation systems within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC systems and related instrumentation equipment such as temperature sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, flow switches, flow monitors, and pressure switches.

Parameterization and maintenance of Frequency Drive Systems.

Interpreting electrical drawings for effective troubleshooting of electrical control systems.

Inspecting and verifying proper installation of electrical equipment, including testing of continuity, polarity, insulation, and earthing systems, and correcting any abnormalities found.

Leading and coordinating shift activities to ensure plant operations are maintained and plant capacity is fully utilized.

Ensuring smooth production operations and responding promptly to equipment breakdowns.

Conducting planned equipment inspections using checklists and reporting any abnormalities identified.

Preparing monthly technical reports for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities and equipment breakdowns.

Preparing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for equipment breakdowns lasting more than one hour to determine the root cause.

Ensuring safety compliance by conducting daily toolbox meetings before commencing any job.

Recording all shift duties in the shift logbook and submitting the same in a timely manner using Excel reports.

Supporting maintenance management strategies for spare parts, planned maintenance tasks, and planned outages to improve plant reliability.

Identifying and managing inventory levels of critical spare parts and working closely with the Supply Chain Department to ensure availability and durability of parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering.

  • A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.

  • Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.

  • Professional Engineer registration will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and spoken) in English.
