Position Overview
Milan Fiber is seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Network Specialist / Fiber Engineer to support the installation, expansion, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal network performance and reliable service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Installation & Expansion
- Install and expand fiber optic network infrastructure
- Support rollout of new network coverage areas
2. Network Performance & Monitoring
- Monitor network performance and signal quality
- Minimize downtime and ensure consistent connectivity
3. Customer Equipment Setup
- Install and configure ONU/ONT devices and routers
- Ensure proper connectivity and customer satisfaction
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve fiber network issues
5. Technical Operations
- Perform fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
- Use tools such as OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Fusion Splicer, and Fiber Cleaver
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily technical reports
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
7. Operational Support
- Support ongoing network operations
- Ensure smooth and uninterrupted service delivery
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
- Or a related field
Experience
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in:
- Fiber installation
- Maintenance
- Troubleshooting
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- GPON / EPON systems
- OLT and ONU/ONT technologies
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and IP networking
Tools & Equipment
- Proficiency in using:
- OTDR
- Optical Power Meter
- Fusion Splicer
- Fiber Cleaver
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Good communication and reporting skills
