FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION INTERN OPPORTUNITY
📍 Duty Station: Dodoma, Tanzania
📄 Contract Duration: 5 Months
📌 Reports To: Finance & Administration Assistant

1. Role Overview
The Finance & Administration Intern will support the Finance and Administration Unit while gaining practical, hands-on experience in financial operations, reporting, analysis, and office administration functions.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Accounting & Finance Support
- Assist in reviewing payment requisitions, invoices, and supporting documents
- Support preparation of payment vouchers and cheques according to procedures
- Ensure payment acknowledgments are obtained from beneficiaries
- Maintain proper filing and organization of payment documents
- Ensure all payment documents are properly stamped as “PAID”
- Assist in processing travel accountabilities and verification
- Maintain records of approved travel advances and accountability summaries
- Ensure weekly financial transactions are entered into the accounting system
- Support maintenance and updating of the inventory register
- Track and follow up on staff travel advances for timely accountability
- Assist in data entry and updating of the fixed assets register
B. Administration – Front Office Management
- Maintain general filing system and organize correspondence
- Support the professional image of the organization through proper front desk management
- Assist in coordinating internal meetings, scheduling, and agenda preparation
C. General Administration Support
- Assist in staff travel logistics coordination
- Support procurement of goods and services ensuring value for money
- Help prepare internal correspondence and administrative memos
- Support event planning and logistics arrangements
- Assist in managing office equipment and liaising with service providers
- Support digital archiving (scanning and cloud/server storage of documents)
3. Technical Competence Requirements
- Basic experience in spreadsheets (e.g., Excel)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in office administration is an advantage
- Strong integrity: honest and trustworthy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
4. Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience in finance, accounting, or administration roles
