The role involves executing telecom infrastructure projects for various NEWL clients, ensuring network availability, stability, and performance across assigned regions.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits for preventive maintenance of telecom equipment as per SLA
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting for RAN (BTS, Node B, E-Node B, 5G) and transmission systems (PDH/SDH, fiber)
  • Execute corrective maintenance and restore services within SLA timelines
  • Carry out software and hardware upgrades on field sites within assigned region
  • Address and clear network degradation alarms to improve network quality
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by management
  • Support tasks assigned by Line Manager, SLM, or NOC
  • Inspect and conduct ATP for microwave links and RAN equipment
  • Ensure SHEQ compliance across all project activities
  • Report near misses, hazards, and SHEQ non-conformities to SHEQ Manager
  • Submit incident reports within 24 hours
  • Ensure Field Level Risk Assessments are completed before planned work
  • Cooperate with SHEQ teams during incident investigations

Qualification, Skills & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related field
  • Valid Working at Height certificate (advantage)
  • Valid Driving License
  • Defensive driving and 4×4 certification (advantage)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within defined procedures
  • Willingness to work in any region within Tanzania
