Shanta Gold is seeking a skilled Fitter Mechanic to join the team at the Singida Gold Mine.

🔍 Role Overview
The Fitter Mechanic supports reliable and efficient process plant operations by executing mechanical maintenance, repairs, and inspections. This role ensures equipment availability and quality workmanship in compliance with safety standards and asset reliability plans to help achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities
🛠 Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs

Scheduled Maintenance: Execute planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance according to work instructions and manufacturer specifications.

Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose mechanical faults and perform dismantling, repairing, and reassembling of components to restore equipment safety.

Tool Proficiency: Safely use specialized tools, lifting equipment, and electronic diagnostic systems.

Reliability: Ensure all work meets quality standards to support equipment availability and maintain high housekeeping standards in work areas.
🦺 Safety, Health & Compliance

Risk Assessment: Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or task risk assessments before starting any work to identify and control hazards.

Reporting: Promptly report all equipment defects, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.

Environmental Protection: Perform tasks in a manner that prevents damage to the environment, facilities, and equipment.
🤝 Teamwork & Improvement

Process Enhancement: Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to boost plant reliability.

Mentorship: Support the team through knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring when required.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Education: Trade Test Certificate Grade I or Mechanical Full Technician Certificate (FTC).
-
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a mining or process plant environment.
🧠 Skills & Competencies

Technical: Strong problem-solving and mechanical fault-finding skills.

Digital Literacy: Computer literate with the ability to operate electronic diagnostic tools.

Organization: Solid planning and organizational abilities.
