Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing SAP-related activities for the Transport Department as a core user trained in TMS (Transportation Management System), MM (Materials Management), and SD (Sales and Distribution).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

SAP & Data Management

• Maintain accurate electronic databases for fleet management, including tracking sales, vehicle registrations, inspections, and maintenance records.

• Ensure all vehicle and driver logbooks are properly maintained and input correctly into relevant documentations and systems.

• Liaise with Fleet Operations Support (FOS) on all issues related to fleet management.

Fleet Operations & Scheduling

• Ensure constant fleet availability to meet all business requests by scheduling, forecasting, and surveying current user trends.

• Coordinate and arrange fleets alongside operational staff to provide transport support and manage special event planning.

• Review and sign-off on periodic vehicle fueling requests in strict compliance with approved company provisions.

Maintenance & Inspections

• Coordinate routine vehicle servicing and repairs as required, ensuring all associated documentation is updated.

• Perform periodic vehicle inspections, report all operational incidences, and provide strategic recommendations to the Head of Department.

• Liaise closely with approved mechanic workshops to ensure prompt, complete service and repair of Dangote Cement Limited (DCL) trucks.

Compliance & Reporting

• Monitor fleet operations continuously to ensure total compliance with local and state rules and regulations.

• Oversee all activities involving vehicle licensing, statutory renewals, and other legal registrations.

• Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity-building initiatives across the entire fleet to achieve company objectives.

• Prepare and submit detailed monthly fleet performance reports.

• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Manager or Head of Transport.

Key Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Education: First degree or its equivalent in Transport and Logistics.

• Professional Qualification: Professional certification or qualification in Transport and Logistics.

• Experience: At least eight (8) years of practical experience in a generalist Transport role.

Skills and Competencies

• Core user competency and experience in SAP systems (specifically TMS, MM, and SD modules).

• Basic knowledge of computer applications and automated/manual record management systems.

• Proven ability to effectively apply scheduling techniques to daily work operations.

• Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and communication skills.

• A highly performance-driven and result-oriented individual.
