Funded Traineeships for Young Graduates – European Union Delegation to Tanzania
Overview
The European Union Delegation to Tanzania is offering a 6-month funded traineeship within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) for young graduates interested in international relations, diplomacy, governance, democracy, and public diplomacy.
Traineeship Period
- Start Date: 10 August 2026
- End Date: 9 February 2027
Main Responsibilities
The selected trainee will work under the supervision of the Head of the Political, Press and Information Section and will support activities such as:
Political Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor political and governance developments
- Draft reports, speeches, briefings, and Note Verbales
- Support outreach to the Tanzanian Government
Coordination & Representation
- Liaise with EU Member States’ embassies in Tanzania
- Attend meetings and official events
- Assist in organizing diplomatic visits and functions
Visibility & Public Diplomacy
- Support EU-Tanzania communication initiatives
- Assist with workshops, campaigns, and public events
- Work with the Press and Information Officer on strategic communication
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- Excellent command of English
- Have less than one year of professional experience after graduation
- Must not have worked in EU Institutions for more than six weeks previously
Student jobs, volunteering, and internships during or after university are not counted as professional experience.
Financial Support
Selected trainees will receive a monthly grant to help cover living expenses.
However, trainees are responsible for:
- Travel costs
- Visa expenses
- Insurance
- Accommodation
Important Notes
