VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – GENERAL PRACTITIONER (GP)

Kitengule Hospital is seeking to recruit a competent, dedicated, and patient-focused General Practitioner (GP) to join our growing medical team. We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced medical professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting medical consultations, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a wide range of health conditions.
  • Managing common medical illnesses and emergencies within the scope of general practice.
  • Referring patients to appropriate specialists or healthcare services for further evaluation and management when necessary.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and effectively utilizing laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic investigations to support clinical decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Undertaking any other clinical duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a recognized medical internship program.
  • Valid registration with the MCT and have a current practicing license (mandatory).
  • At least one (1) year of experience working as a General Practitioner; however, exceptional candidates with less experience may also be considered.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to medical ethics, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call duties as required.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support hospital operations based on service needs.
