About the Job

Alvala Company Limited is seeking a qualified, competent, and experienced Geologist to join its mining operations team. The successful candidate will support geological fieldwork, mineral exploration, resource evaluation, grade control, and mining operations while ensuring compliance with applicable mining regulations, environmental standards, and workplace safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geological fieldwork, mapping, and sampling to support mining operations.
  • Identify, assess, and evaluate mineral deposits and geological formations.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret geological data and samples.
  • Monitor mining activities to ensure alignment with geological findings and recommendations.
  • Support mineral exploration, resource evaluation, and grade control activities.
  • Prepare accurate geological reports and maintain proper records of field observations and findings.
  • Collaborate with mining engineers and other site personnel to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor ore quality and assist in identifying mineralised zones.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable mining regulations, environmental standards, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Perform any other relevant duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Diploma in Geology with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Practical experience in geological fieldwork and mining operations, preferably in gold mining.
  • Knowledge of geological mapping, sampling techniques, mineral identification, and grade control.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, interpret, and report geological data accurately.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in preparing geological reports.
  • Ability to work in a remote mining environment and under challenging field conditions.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
