Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a qualified and experienced Gold Room Operator to support its processing operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of precious metals, including gold and silver bullion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health, Safety, Environment, and Community Relations

• Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, environmental protection, and community relations.
• Champion a zero-harm safety culture across all processing operations.
• Ensure processing facilities and practices comply with environmental obligations and permit conditions.
• Ensure all gold room activities comply with applicable safety and environmental regulations.

2. Leadership and People Management

• Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure workforce planning meets operational requirements, including succession planning and skills development.
• Promote positive employee relations and ensure compliance with workplace policies, codes of conduct, and industrial relations frameworks.
• Encourage workforce engagement through clear communication of goals, expectations, and performance outcomes.
• Promote process optimization and continuous improvement within the metallurgical team.

3. Gold Room Operations

• Monitor key metallurgical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from established plans.
• Assist with smelting and bullion pick-up operations.
• Complete gold room logs and record relevant operational data.
• Maintain accurate records of gold and silver bullion inventory at all times.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Attributes

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge of bullion production processes, including smelting and electrowinning.
• Proven experience working in a gold room within a gold processing operation.
• A strong commitment to safety leadership and sound knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Processing and Maintenance departments.
• Alignment with Perseus Mining’s values, including accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Strong understanding of gold room operations and equipment.
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience in metallurgical or mineral processing roles, preferably in gold processing operations.
• At least three years of experience specifically in a gold room operations role.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to undertake external training to complement operational requirements.
• Willingness to work outside normal working hours when required.
