Position Details
Position: Grounds and Facilities Supervisor
Location: Arusha
Closing Date: Friday, 5 June 2026
Job Purpose
The Grounds and Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the school campus.
The role involves:
- Supervising cleaners and gardeners
- Coordinating event set-ups
- Managing supplies and inventory
- Supporting smooth day-to-day campus operations
This position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Leadership
- Lead and supervise in-house cleaners and gardeners.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and campus maintenance.
Event Coordination
- Organize and oversee event set-ups for school functions and activities.
- Respond effectively to last-minute changes and operational needs.
Gardening & Grounds Maintenance
- Ensure school grounds are clean, attractive, and properly maintained.
Administrative & Computer Duties
- Manage inventory and stock levels for:
- Cleaning supplies
- Gardening tools
- Handle internal requests for supplies and equipment.
- Maintain proper communication and records.
Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in:
- Email communication
- Microsoft Excel
- Google applications
- 3–5 years of experience in:
- Grounds and facilities management
- School, hotel, or corporate environments preferred
- Ability to supervise outdoor work under varying weather conditions.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
Working Hours
- Standard school working hours.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends during major school events may be required.
