Job Overview

The HSE Head will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental strategies. The goal is to ensure the organization complies with safety regulations and fosters a culture of safety to prevent workplace accidents and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in compliance with local and international standards.

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.

• Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Design and deliver HSE training programs for employees and subcontractors.

• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics to senior management.

• Manage environmental impact assessments and waste management programs.

• Ensure all necessary safety equipment is provided, maintained, and used correctly.

• Coordinate with regulatory bodies and ensure all permits and licenses are up to date.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction or industrial sector.

• Certifications: Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are highly desirable.

• Core Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and international HSE standards.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
