IT Support Tanzania
The IT Support reports to the IT Director and is primarily responsible for installing and updating workstations and user peripherals, providing guidance and support to users in the day-to-day use of office tools and business applications, and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of the IT asset fleet
Key Responsibilities
- Assist users or intervene directly to resolve technical issues and malfunctions.
- Provide technical support to office staff and visitors.
- Install, configure, and support standard hardware and software, including desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and printers
- Monitor and report network and connectivity issues to central product and service teams.
- Demonstrate practical experience with IT security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering solutions.
- Work effectively under normal professional pressure and deadlines.
- Remain focused, responsive, and available to follow cases through to resolution.
- Organize IT awareness and training activities for employees, including group and individual training sessions, workshops, and IT exhibitions.
Profile
Education
- Minimum bachelor/ master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT services, end-user support, and/or information security.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of networking and the ability to ensure efficient network operations.
- Responsive and proactive, with the ability to provide timely and effective support.
- Basic ability to identify, assess, and recommend solutions for IT operational activities.
- First-level troubleshooting skills for network-related issues.
- Solid understanding of IT asset management principles, including asset lifecycle and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent in both French and English.
- Ability to work effectively within a virtual and multicultural team environment.
- Resourceful and self-motivated.
- Active participation in team meetings and collaboration initiatives.
- Business and customer-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly define issues and communicate resolution steps
- Ability to maintain professional and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure user satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal awareness and understanding of others’ concerns, motivations, strengths, and limitations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw accurate conclusions from available information.
