Available Positions

1. Accounts Payable

  • Location: Arusha, Tanzania
  • Reports To: Financial Accountant

Role Overview

The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for managing supplier payments, reconciliations, and accounts payable processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier and statutory payments accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts, ledgers, and intercompany balances.
  • Prepare supplier ageing reports and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Review supplier invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile supplier clearing accounts and process VAT adjustments.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Assist with statutory and tax audits.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve queries promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier reconciliations and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet reporting deadlines.

2. Tax / Management Accountant

  • Location: Arusha, Tanzania
  • Reports To: Head of Finance

Role Overview

The successful candidate will support financial and management reporting, tax compliance, statutory audits, and provide accurate financial information to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Manage statutory and tax audits while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor tax matters, VAT reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Prepare financial analyses and ad hoc management reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support continuous process improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience (tourism industry experience is an added advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and accounting principles.
  • Experience with statutory audits and accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

3. Country General Manager – Tanzania

  • Location: Tanzania
  • Reports To: Head of Operations

Role Overview

The Country General Manager will lead Lemala’s Tanzania operations, overseeing luxury camps and lodges, destination management company (DMC) operations, logistics, fleet management, procurement, and support services to ensure operational excellence, outstanding guest experiences, and strong business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute operational strategy across the Tanzania business.
  • Drive excellence in guest experience, service standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee multi-site operations, budgets, infrastructure, and resource management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
  • Strengthen relationships with government authorities, local communities, and key stakeholders.
  • Champion sustainability, conservation, and responsible tourism initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field (MBA is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the hospitality or tourism industry.
  • At least 8 years of experience managing multi-site operations.
  • Extensive experience within the luxury safari or lodge sector.
  • Strong operational, financial, and people leadership skills.
  • Experience with an inbound DMC or integrated tourism business is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience working in East Africa is highly desirable.
