Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

Band: X

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to provide laboratory support across the value chain by performing checks and analyses on Brewing Operations Process (BOP) raw materials. This ensures that production consistently delivers beer that conforms to AB InBev’s quality and food safety standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Quality Performance and Compliance

Meet and contribute to site Quality KPIs.
Prevent quality non-compliances and promote quality awareness across the site.
Contribute to overall quality performance and foster a strong quality culture.
Execute activities in compliance with food safety and quality management systems.
Identify non-conformances and ensure out-of-control procedures are followed.

Laboratory Operations and Analysis

Prepare, identify, verify, and handle samples in accordance with manualized methods to retain sample integrity.
Conduct laboratory analyses using fundamental and specialized laboratory techniques.
Generate accurate results within specified timelines and record and report results as per standard procedures.
Carry out specialized and highly specialized quality analyses where required.
Perform additional analytical work in support of continuous improvement initiatives.

Equipment, Calibration, and VPO Compliance

Maintain, inspect, and calibrate laboratory equipment in line with manualized methods.
Adhere to defined calibration frequencies and ensure calibration records are accurate and up to date.
Execute all VPO activities in accordance with VPO work practices.
Conduct calibration of specialist equipment for which the laboratory is responsible.

Safety, Housekeeping, and 5S

Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the laboratory.
Adhere strictly to PPE policies and laboratory safety rules.
Identify and act on unsafe conditions and work practices.
Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous substances according to procedures.
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment and report incidents in line with procedures.

Audits, Support, and Continuous Improvement

Conduct required quality audits and complete relevant documentation.
Review and audit quality analysis and calibration procedures of production teams, identifying gaps, risks, and training needs.
Initiate and support corrective actions resulting from audits.
Support production teams in problem-solving through coaching, mentoring, and specialist guidance.
Participate in regional and divisional process optimization initiatives.

Communication and Development

Communicate results, issues, and improvement opportunities effectively.
Contribute to self-development and team capability building.
Support the training and development of production teams on quality and analytical techniques.
