Job Summary

The Postjob Service Officer is responsible for providing specialist advice and day-to-day operational support to ensure the effective execution of assigned responsibilities in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role focuses on customer acquisition support, documentation processing, customer service, and market intelligence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Introduce and explain Absa Bank products and their features to prospective customers.
  • Ensure customers provide all required documentation in accordance with product requirements.
  • Verify and certify customer documentation while ensuring all application forms are properly completed.
  • Forward completed customer applications to the Sales Manager for review before submission.
  • Ensure the safe custody of customer documents and maintain strict confidentiality of customer information.
  • Keep customers informed about the status and outcome of their applications.
  • Collect market and competitor information from the field and provide feedback to leadership to support product improvement.
  • Inform customers about the available channels for submitting feedback, inquiries, or complaints to the bank.
  • Perform duties in compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in:
    • Business
    • Commerce
    • Management Studies
    • Or a related field

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling customer documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills.

  • Basic knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Market awareness and competitor analysis skills.
