Selous Kinga Lodge is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and visionary Lodge Manager to lead the daily operations of this exclusive property.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the lodge while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
- Leading, managing, and developing a diverse team of hospitality professionals in a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensuring all departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, and guest services, operate effectively and meet required standards.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences through personalized service and attention to detail.
- Managing lodge finances, including budgeting, cost control, stock management, and reporting.
- Working closely with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Maintaining lodge facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure they remain in excellent condition.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and local regulations.
- Contributing to long-term strategic planning, business development initiatives, and sustainability programs.
- Representing the lodge professionally when engaging with guests, partners, and stakeholders while upholding the lodge’s values and brand.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ management experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hotel, preferably within a luxury safari or wilderness lodge environment.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and stock control.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team-building abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations and hospitality industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on management approach.
- A genuine passion for eco-tourism, wildlife conservation, and delivering unique safari experiences.
