Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) is a specialized medical institution in Tanzania providing orthopedic, trauma and related specialist healthcare services, as well as clinical training and research.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Specialist II – Anaesthesiologist will be responsible for the following:
- Attend to emergency medical duties.
- Conduct ward rounds.
- Perform surgical duties.
- Provide clinical services in both private and public outpatient clinics.
- Conduct research in the respective medical field.
- Participate fully in morning clinical sessions, patient presentations and journal clubs.
- Teach and supervise medical doctors and students in clinical work and surgical procedures.
- Participate in outreach programmes.
- Participate in the preparation of the Medical Directorate’s budget.
- Initiate, create and plan strategies to improve professional services.
- Prepare continuing education programmes for medical personnel.
- Provide medical advice or professional opinions in courts of law.
- Perform administrative duties within the respective working area.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
- Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s Degree in Anaesthesiology from a recognized institution.
- Be fully registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Remuneration
Salary Scale: PMGSS 11/1
