Shanta Mining Company Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced mining professionals to join our Open Pit Mining team at Singida Gold Mine. 1. SENIOR OPEN PIT SUPERVISOR (1 POST)

Department: Open Pit Mining

Reports to: Senior Mining Engineer

Roster: 6 Weeks ON, 3 Weeks OFF

Contract: Open Ended
Role Purpose
To coordinate and supervise all load and haul operations in accordance with the daily mining plan to ensure that required productivity and utilization of mining equipment are met safely.
Key Responsibilities
-
Coordinate and supervise execution of daily load and haul activities, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and in accordance with the mining plan.

Lead pre-shift meetings, allocate resources and manage subordinate performance, including employee leave and handover of tasks between shifts.

Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and Tanzania Laws guiding the mining industry.
-
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or environmental standards.
-
Manage equipment availability and ensure equipment are used in accordance with training provided.
-
Coordinate with HME mechanics for scheduled service and breakdown maintenance.

Coordinate with Drill and Blast, Dewatering, Survey, Geotechnical and other stakeholders working with the Production team.

Monitor machine performance against the daily plan, including non-performance, and make recommendations for improvement to the Senior Mining Engineer.

Ensure ore losses and dilution during mining are avoided, and that all required tools and resources are available before starting shift.

Any other valid duties as may be assigned by your supervisor/HOD.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
Certificate of Secondary Education (O/Level) or equivalent.

Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence.
-
Minimum of ten (10) years’ mining experience in operation with proven competency in at least three open pit primary equipment (excavator, Dozer D10 & D10T, Grader 16H & 16M, Truck CAT 777D, MT4400, CAT 785C).
2. OPEN PIT SUPERVISOR (3 POSTS)

Roster: 6 Weeks ON, 3 Weeks OFF

Role Purpose
To assist the Senior Open Pit Supervisor by coordinating and supervising all load and haul operations in accordance with the daily mining plan to ensure that required productivity and utilization of mining equipment are met safely.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct pre-shift meetings to pass on important information to the team, manage employee leave and support performance management.

Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and Tanzania Laws guiding the mining industry.

Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or environmental standards.

Ensure equipment are used in accordance with training provided and maintained for safe and reliable operation.

Manage equipment availability and coordinate with HME mechanics for scheduled service and breakdown maintenance.

Coordinate with Drill and Blast, Dewatering, Survey, Geotechnical and other stakeholders working with the Production team.
